This course teaches the basic knowledge, skill and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding           individual's right to self-defense.

 

This NRA class is divided into two levels (basic and advanced)

Level 1 (Basic) is 9 hours with several hours on the range firing       approximately 100 rd.  

Students may attend level 2 after     successful completion of level 1.

Level 2 (Advanced) is 5 hours of range work firing approximately         115 rd.  Students may attend level 2 after successful completion of level 1.

Intended for the new or novice shooter.  This training will                 concentrate on Safety, Fundamentals of Pistol Marksmanship, Slow fire from 3, 5, and 7 yards from the Ready Position and from the holster. The training will progress and culminate with a     familiarization with some more advanced shooting drills (controlled   pairs, Retention shooting drills, Multi-Target indexing)

Students should already possess the skills covered in the Basic Pistol course prior to attending this course.

Intended for the users that have been shooting their pistol for a while and desires to improve their abilities. This training will quickly review basic pistol safety, Fundamentals of Pistol Marksmanship then progress through Slow fire, Controlled Pairs,   Multi-target indexing, emergency and tactical reloads.  All shooting drills will start from the holster.  The training will culminate with a             familiarization with some more advanced shooting drills (Shooting   while moving, Shoot / No Shoot targets)

Students should already possess the skills covered in the Basic AND Intermediate pistol marksmanship courses listed above. Students lacking the desired skill's / training should schedule  one or both of the prior training sessions prior to attending Defensive Pistol.

This training will review basic pistol safety, quickly go over the Fundamentals of Pistol Marksmanship, progress quickly through Slow fire, Controlled Pairs, Multi-target indexing, emergency and tactical reloads.  The training will then move to retention shooting  techniques, Shooting while moving forward, rearward and laterally.       Shoot and No Shoot scenarios, Proper use of cover.

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

     

    The Following principles will be strongly enforced during this training session:

    • Know and adhere to the real world safety rules that govern professional firearms handing
    • Only accurate hits on targets can decide the fight in your favor - therefore accuracy is king.
    • you are accountable for every round you fire - squeeze the trigger as if your life depends on it because it does.

    All shooting drills will start from the holster.  Shooters should bring the handgun they use for Concealed Carry.
